Camping Bothwell central highlands tasmania
There are 2 camping areas at Bothwell; one being the Bothwell Caravan Park (this listing) where you will find powered and unpowered sites together with toilets, showers and a laundry. Immediately opposite this small caravan park at Bothwell, is a playground, park and barbecue. The second is located approximately 17 kilometres north of the Melton Mowbray turnoff (off the A5) where you will find a large shady roadside parking area on the right hand side of the road. See: Free Camping Bothwell. There are no facilities or amenities, but this is a good spot to park your caravan, campervan or motorhome overnight. At the Bothwell Caravan Park, you can camp in tents and enjoy this centrally located park that attractively located and offers good facilities of toilets, showers and a laundry. There is a nice park immediately opposite where you will find a barbecue and picnic tables. Dogs are OK at the camping area, but are not allowed in the park. There is also visitor information at the park, and it is only a short walk to a shop and hotel serving counter meals 7 days per week.
Bothwell is a small town with a population of just over 300 people situated in central Tasmania on the River Clyde. It is well known for hunting, fishing and being a lake district. It is part of the municipality of Central Highlands Council. Nearby towns include Ouse, Hamilton and Kempton. Bothwell is well known for having one of the world's oldest, best preserved golf courses.
