free Camping Bothwell Roadside Tasmania

There are 2 camping areas at Bothwell; one being the Bothwell Caravan Park where you will find powered and unpowered sites together with toilets, showers and a laundry. The second is this campground near Bothwell, which is located app. 17 kilometres north of the Melton Mowbray turnoff (off the A5 Highway) where you will find a large shady roadside parking area on the left hand side of the road when travelling towards Bothwell. There are no facilities or amenities, but this is a good spot to park your caravan, campervan or motorhome overnight. If coming from the other direction, this campground Bothwell is 2.5 kms south of Bothwell on the right hand side of the road. Be aware this location is right beside the road, and whilst the road does not carry much traffic it may be noisy at times. The Bothwell Caravan Park is a nice small park offering good facilities including toilets, showers and a laundry. Dogs are OK at the camping area, but are not allowed in the park. There is also visitor information at the park.

Bothwell is a small town with a population of just over 300 people located in central Tasmania on the River Clyde. It is popular for hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. It is part of the municipality of Central Highlands Council. Nearby towns include Ouse, Hamilton and Kempton.

This is a very basic camping area, suitable for fully self-contained campervans, caravans and motorhomes. There are no facilities at this location, and it is not suitable for tent camping.
