Granville Harbour Campground Area julius river tasmania

The Granville Harbour free campsite is located some 46 kilometres South of Smithton. Take the South Arthur Forest Drive (A2 highway from Smithton). The campsite at Granville Harbour is located app. 10 kilometres south east of the Kanunnah Bridge that crosses the Arthur River. It is then some 500 metres east of the Granville Harbour Picnic Area. Please note a large section of this road is gravel. There are 6 sites at this location suitable for campervans, caravans, motorhomes and vans. Please note, this site is not suitable for tent-based camping. When staying at the Granville Harbour campsite, make sure you take time to walk through the rainforest on the marked bushwalking tracks. THe Julius River Forest Reserve is located to the north west of the national park where there are a number of reserves including Milkshakes Hills Forest Reserve. These reserves are accessible by standard vehicles and have basic facilities including picnic tables and barbecues. There are a range of short walks here that give visitors an an insight into the expansive rainforest ecosystem that comprises the Savage River National Park.

Sumac Road West Coast Tasmania

This forest camping area is 10 km east of the Kanunnah Bridge and Sumac Lookout on the South Arthur Forest Dr (C218) on the northern edge of the Tarkine rainforest. There are 6 sites suitable for vans (not tents) located 600 m past the picnic area at the Julius River Reserve.
