Camping Liffey Falls, Northern Tasmania near Deloraine, Liffey Falls are a series of spectacular waterfalls, which are very popular with visitors to this region and that can be viewed from well-designed observation decks where the water flows through dense myrtle rainforest in the area of the Great Western Tiers. At the Liffey Falls campsite you will find a small, sheltered, grassy campground located at the Gulf Rd picnic area, which is signposted off the Liffey Falls/Lower Track Road. The Liffey Falls camping area is best accessed from Liffey to the east if you are driving a larger vehicle such as a motorhome, campervan or even a camper trailer. Riversdale Rd, which takes you to the top carpark and falls walk, is narrow, gravel and winding and is not accessible by trailers and vans. It is a day use area only and there is no camping at this location. We recommend that if fit enough you walk the 1.5 hr Liffey Falls Track that connects the upper and lower picnic areas. Please note this part of Tassie can get very cold in winter, and heavy rainfall is common - please be well prepared and take care on the narrow roads that can be slippery after heavy rain and snow. It is free to camp at the Liffey Falls campground, there are basic toilets, a picnic table and shelter. Striclty NO PETS. If you are into fishing, you can fish for trout (with a valid license) in the nearby Liffey River. The toilets have disabled access; there are sheltered picnic areas and gas barbecues at the upper end of the reserve.
