The Lions Club Caravan Park in Port Sorell is a popular park with the owners welcoming and friendly. The Port Sorell Campground is beautifully treed and grassed situated alongside sun-drenched beaches, and just minutes from the local shop, Bowls Club, Golf Club, Shearwater Country Club, tennis courts, swimming, fishing and the main shopping centre of Port Sorell. The Caravan Park has 160 sites, 128 are available for hire and most are suitable for both caravans and camping. The Port Sorell caravan park has 116 powered sites and 12 unpowered 2 on-site 6 berth Cabins with en suite - own bedding required 3 on-site 6 berth Caravans- no en suite, own bedding required 2 on-site 4 berth Caravans- no en suite - own bedding required The above are fitted out with TV, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, oven, and all crockery including pots and pans. Some sites are situated close to the boat ramp and the dog exercise area. Some small dogs are allowed in the selected area (Not Between 1st December and 1st March each year) Fire pots are allowed at the manager’s approval; wood is available for purchase. Ice, Gas, and fishing bait are available for purchase from the Office. Port Sorell is a small coastal town located on the northwest coast of Tasmania, Australia. It lies just off the Bass Strait, 20 km east of Devonport and close to Shearwater and Hawley Beach. As of the 2006 census, Port Sorell had a population of just over 2000 people. The town was originally a fishing and sealing port named Burgess, however, the name was officially changed to Port Sorell in 1822. Port Sorell is one of many popular holiday spots along the north coast of Tasmania with the area swelling during Summer and on long weekends and school holidays.
